Tyler was a true visionary, founding Evolve Technology in 2006 and setting the industry standard for providing outstanding video products, services, and education. Countless people benefitted from his generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to the live events industry

Evolve is the gold standard for quality in the live events industry because of Tyler’s commitment to technicians, not technology. He created Evolve because as a technician he experienced firsthand how one piece of faulty gear could make or break a gig.

He would say “In our industry, there are no do-overs”. This fueled Tyler’s purpose to support the technician, whose reputation on the line for every show. He made it his mission to ensure that everything at Evolve elevates the technician and makes them the star of the show.

He looked at the men and women of the live events industry as craftsmen and the very definition of entrepreneurs. Tyler dedicated his life to the industry he credited many times with saving him and giving him purpose.

He didn’t do what was easy, he did what was right for the industry. Starting an Academy to train technicians wasn’t easy, but it was what technicians needed because he knew that with knowledge came confidence, and with confidence came success.

His voice will be greatly missed, however his legacy will live on through Evolve and this scholorship.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Tyler Mayne Tech Forward Scholarship in honor of our founder and friend, Tyler Mayne. Tyler was a visionary leader who founded Evolve Technology in 2006, setting the industry standard for exceptional video products, services, and education. He understood the vital importance of skilled professionals in the ever-evolving live events industry. To carry forward Tyler’s legacy, we have established this scholarship, which will provide opportunities for individuals to enhance their skills and knowledge through the Evolve Academy.

Our academy offers workshops designed specifically for industry professionals, empowering them to adapt to the constant changes and innovations in our field. Through a comprehensive series of education sessions, lectures, and product demonstrations, the Evolve Academy aims to elevate the expertise of those who shape the future of live events.

We are pleased to offer two scholarships: one for high school students, who must be nominated by a teacher, and another for technicians seeking to advance their education. These scholarships serve as a testament to Tyler Mayne’s enduring impact on our industry, and we are committed to supporting future professionals as they follow in his visionary footsteps.

High School Graduate Application

Who Should Apply?
  • High School Students Interested in Live Events: High school students who have a genuine interest in the live events industry and aspire to pursue a career in this field should ask a teacher to nominate for them for this scholarship. This scholarship is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your journey.

  • Nominated by a Teacher: To apply for this scholarship, you must be nominated by a teacher who recognizes your passion, potential, and dedication to the live events industry. If a teacher believes in your abilities, encourage them to nominate you.
  • Ambitious and Driven: If you have a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of live events and are eager to make a positive impact in the industry, this scholarship is designed for students like you.

    1. Eligibility: This scholarship is open to high school students who have been nominated by a teacher.

    2. Nomination: Speak to your teacher or an educator who knows you well and ask them to nominate you for the Tyler Mayne Tech Forward Scholarship.

    3. Teacher’s Responsibility: Teachers interested in nominating students should complete the scholarship nomination form. They will need to provide their contact information, as well as information about the nominated student.
